Ans : Let the block m be displaced towards left by displacement x.

∴ F1 = `` -``k1x (compressed)
F2 = `` -``k2x (expanded)
`` ma={F}_{1}+{F}_{2}``
`` \Rightarrow a=\frac{-x\left({k}_{1}+{k}_{2}\right)}{m}``
i.e. `` \left({k}_{1}+{k}_{2}\right)\frac{x}{m}`` opposite the displacement or towards the mean position.
