What was the reaction of Indian National Congress towards Cabinet Mission Plan?
Ans : Reaction of the Congress: Congress Working Committee agreed to join the Constituent Assembly (a sovereign body) with a view of framing the Constitution of a united democratic India.
Major objections of the Congress were:
    • The Plan will divide India into small states.
    • It objected grouping of provinces on a communal basis.
    • It objected the inclusion of Assam, a Hindu-majority province with the Muslim-majority Bengal province.
    • It opposed the League's claim that it alone had the right to nominate all the Muslim members to the Executive Council.
    • Interim Government would have a limited status.
