- #6In a single throw of a die, find the probability of getting a number (i) greater than 2 (ii) less than or equal to 2 (iii) not greater than 2. (i) greater than 2 (ii) less than or equal to 2 (iii) not greater than 2.Ans : (i) A die has six numbers = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
∴ Number of possible outcomes = 6
∴ P(E) = 4/6 = 2/3 (ii) Less than or equal to 2
Number of favourable outcome = 1, 2
∴ P(E) = 2/6
= 1/3 (iii) Not greater than 2
Number of favourable outcomes = 1, 2
∴ P(E) = 2/6
= 1/3 (i) A die has six numbers = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
∴ Number of possible outcomes = 6
∴ P(E) = 4/6 = 2/3 (ii) Less than or equal to 2
Number of favourable outcome = 1, 2
∴ P(E) = 2/6
= 1/3 (iii) Not greater than 2
Number of favourable outcomes = 1, 2
∴ P(E) = 2/6
= 1/3
- #6-igreater than 2Ans : A die has six numbers = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
∴ Number of possible outcomes = 6
∴ P(E) = 4/6 = 2/3
- #6-iiless than or equal to 2Ans : Less than or equal to 2
Number of favourable outcome = 1, 2
∴ P(E) = 2/6
= 1/3
- #6-iiinot greater than 2.Ans : Not greater than 2
Number of favourable outcomes = 1, 2
∴ P(E) = 2/6
= 1/3
