20: Area of Trapezium and a Polygon Class 8 Maths
- #2Two sides of a triangle are 6 cm and 8 cm. If height of the triangle corresponding to 6 cm side is 4 cm; find : (i) area of the triangle (ii) height of the triangle corresponding to 8 cm side.Ans :
BC = 6 cm
Height AD = 4 cm
Area of ∆ = ½ × base × height
= 1//2 × BC × AD
= ½ × 6 × 4
= 12 cm2
Again area of ∆ = ½ × AC × BE
12 = ½ × 8 × BE
∴ BE = (12 × 2)/8
BE = 3 cm
∴ (i) 12 cm2
(ii) 3 cm
